“For Everything There Is a Season”

The Bible tells me in Ecclesiastes chapter 3:1 “For everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under Heaven” This is true for everyone, young and old as we travel through this adventure we call Life.  Some people consider the end of a season as a time to be sad and disappointed that the situation you have been in for a long while is coming to an end. I have been going through this season called the great retirement adventure for a while now. I have to say I have no idea what God has for me tomorrow, next week, next month, or even next year. How Exciting Is That! I am still “All In” here at Christian Adventurers and I can’t wait to see what door God opens for me.  After all, if you are called to ministry, you are never fully retired.

I first started coaching youth sports when I was 18 years old. If you do the math, The Lord has blessed me with working with youth for 50 years! How many people can say that? I have been coaching Varsity high school boys basketball at Clover       Garden Charter School for the last 10 years. Last week was my final game as coach at Clover Garden. It was an honor to share Christ and mentor all the boys I worked with. Is the coaching door closed for me now? Certainly not! If God opens another door I’ll know He has even more great adventures for me and even more kids to share Christ with.

I want to thank all those that faithfully pray for us and support  Christian Adventurers financially.  I feel greatly blessed God has chosen us and all our faith partners to reach out to so many young people through sports, mission trips, Bible studies, or even lunch at school. God is so good!

Always Looking For The Miracle!

Pointed In The Right Direction

Cheif’s Corner

As I was cleaning out my truck, I came across some photos from 1998 of several retreats we had taken with the kids in Christian Adventurers. Now, almost all of them have families of their own. Time seems to stand still when I look at all those faces and remember what a great time that was. God has allowed me the honor to minister to and invest time in the lives of children, teens, and now adults over the last 41 years. The Lord always knows best and has been pointing me in a direction that some really don’t understand. Tow people over the last month have asked me if I still work with Christian Adventurers! I have taken a position of cutting back my hours some. But, the reports of my full retirement have been greatly exaggerated! I am still “All In” with the mission and work of Christian Adventurers. I’m just trying to spend more time with my family. I heard a person say, “No amount of money could ever buy a second of time”. How true that is! Ministry is a difficult job. Ministers spend a great deal of their time trying to meet the needs of those under their care while their family gets what is left over. Mark and I both have been burning the candle at both ends and are in need of someone with fresh legs to work with us. Beginning September 1st, we will have an intern working with us! We are stepping out on faith that God will provide all the funds we need and more as we take this step in what we feel is the right direction! We still keep our vision alive of one day having our own gym facility. The drawings show depict what our building will look like. I am always praying for The Lord to bless us with this building. In the meantime, we are resuming our search for a building to least that offers offices and activity space for some of our programs.

I need to raise some funds to help with the intern we’ll be adding in September. He will be raising support as well. As a result, we are sponsoring a Mini Golf tournament at the Putt-Putt Fun Center on September 27 from 6:00 to 9:00 PM. We’re calling it the “Battle in Burlington”. I am asking people and businesses to sponsor in the following ways:

Diamond Tournament Sponsor- $500

Gold Hole Sponsor- $200

Silver Hole Sponsor- $100

Bronze Hole Sponsor- $50

It’s going to be a great night of fun. I’m expecting a big turnout. This tournament is for all ages and skillsets- Novice, Amateur, and Professional. Details will be on the Christian Adventurers Facebook page and on our website caministries.com this week. If you want to know more about how to enter the tournament or details on being a sponsor, email me at creecht21@aol.com or call 336-212-0194.

41 Years and Still Better Than Ever!

April 14, 2022 by Terry Creech Leave a Comment

It’s hard to believe 41 years ago God gave Steve Austin and myself the vision to begin a journey that has reached more people and shared God’s Word in more places than I could ever have imagined. Who am I that God would bless so much? There have been some difficult times, but I choose to only remember what great things the Lord has done for us. Someone once said, “ When hard times come, remember that “Life Happens”. I am so glad to know that when “Life Happens”, God is right there with me! I am not alone! Many times I don’t know what tomorrow will bring.

But, my answer to that is, “How Exciting!”

Always looking for the Miracle!

Small Blessing, Huge Impact

June 9, 2020 by Terry Creech Leave a Comment

Chief’s Corner

It’s amazing how the Lord uses people in ways that they are never aware of. God can use what I call “Words of Life” that changes a person from the inside out! An adult came up to me that I hadn’t seen in a long time and thanked me for what I had done for them. I had no idea what they were talking about. They went on to say,” Do you remember the time you were teaching the children a Bible lesson at Sports Camp? Your words touched my heart and changed my life forever!” God likes to use the small things that we never think about that can make the biggest difference!

I just want to say THANKS to everyone that prayed for us and came to our Drive-Through banquet and auction several weeks
ago! Your belief in us and your prayer and financial support makes a huge difference in the lives of all that we reach out to! We
weren’t sure how this type of banquet would work. The coronavirus situation was causing all kinds of problems. We had faith
that God would come to our rescue! (Psalms 91) and He Did!!!!! I prayed for 20 virtual table sponsors. In all the years of
having our banquet, we never had more than 12 sponsors. Asking for 20 seemed like a God sized request.
We had 27 sponsors this year! God went above and beyond what I prayed for! God is so good!!!

I want to finish by saying a big Thank You to all that partner with us in prayer and financial support and close with the lyrics to a song I heard many years ago.

One by one they came, As far as the eye could see, Each life somehow touched, By your generosity, Little things that you had done, sacrifices made, Unnoticed on the earth, heaven now proclaims. Jesus took the gift you gave And that’s why I’m here today Thank you for giving to the Lord. I am a life that was changed. Thank you for giving to the Lord. I am so glad you gave.

Standing On The Promises

March 31, 2020 by Terry Creech Leave a Comment

During these unstable times, we all have decisions to make. The enemy is spreading fear and doubt and he wants us to feel hopeless. Never in my lifetime have I experienced this much of a challenge. I am in a spiritual battle as are many of you! During this time, let’s band together and believe God’s promises and make a choice not to be afraid and be consumed with worry. The enemy likes to attack me with questions like, “What happens if I get sick?” No money is coming in. “How am I going to pay my bills?” The Bible says, “Submit yourselves to God, resist the devil and he will flee from you” (James 4:7) I have a choice. I choose to resist! Here is a great Bible verse to hang on to;

2Timothy 1:7

7For God hath not given us the spirit of fear, but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.

Let’s claim that power! We must use our minds to make good choices in this battle with this pandemic.

Isaiah 41:10 New King James Version(NKJV)

10Fear not, for I am with you; Be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, Yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.

Isaiah 40:28-31 New King James Version(NKJV)

28Have you not known? Have you not heard? The everlasting God, the Lord, the Creator of the ends of the earth, neither faints nor is weary. His understanding is unsearchable. 29He gives power to the weak, and to those who have no might, He increases strength. 30Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall, 31But those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint.

Times ahead seem very difficult for small churches, people out of work, and non-profits like Christian Adventurers. I have always believed God is our source. He promised to meet all our needs! I have faith that He will provide during this time of crisis. I want to thank those that have been partners with us in our ministry with your prayers and financial support. Please continue to lift us up to the Lord each day and help us find funding sources to keep things going here at Christian Adventurers.

Always Looking for the Miracle!

Dare To Dream

September 10, 2019 by Jordan Tate Leave a Comment

I have to confess, I am a dreamer! I believe God when He says that “All Things Are Possible”. I really get fired up when I hear people say negative things like, You can’t do that, that will never happen, or you will never raise enough money for  that.  I have been the Director of Christian Adventurers for almost 39 years. During that time, I have seen God work in ways that you wouldn’t believe even if you were told! Dream Big! Expect Big Things! Pray For Big Things! Believe in God’s Provision! Receive Big Things! Some people get stuck in their circumstances but I believe with all my heart that God can change your circumstances!  Matthew 9:23 says, “All things are  possible to him that believes.”

So far, 2019 has been has been a whirlwind of activity and ministry and the new school year is just beginning! We have big plans this Fall and want to reach as many kids possible. Coaching is an effective tool we use in sharing the Gospel. It’s Christ first and basketball second. We will be coaching 4 teams this season that includes over 40 boys. Our mission teams this summer included over 100 teenagers that went with us to Bradshaw West Virginia, Ringgold Georgia, Southport NC and Olyphic NC. We want to keep this group together for local mission opportunities during the school year.  Senior adult ministry has been a real blessing as we do programs at the Graham Senior Center and Alamance Health Care in Burlington, NC. There is still our focus on “At Risk” kids in our weekly Monday Night ministry. It takes a lot to effectively share Christ and develop relationships in all these areas. This is where I am asking God to provide friends to help us financially. I can’t do this alone. I believe God is using us to make a difference in the lives in hundreds of children and teens  everywhere we go.

A pastor told me to be bold in asking for support. The Gospel is free but running a ministry is not. I need people that believe in our ministry to come along side of us and offer their prayer support and trust in God’s provision and support us financially as well. Partner with us by making a donation by sending it to PO Box 292, Graham, NC 27253 or I can meet with you in person to share more details about the ministry and how your donation can and will make a big difference.

Always Looking For The Miracle,

Livin’ The Dream!

October 4, 2018 by Terry Creech Leave a Comment

Our main goal here at Christian Adventurers is to share the Love of Christ with as many people as we can.  Some people think it would be extremely difficult to go out and find a lot of kids and families to share our faith with, but we don’t have to go out.  God brings them to us! This year, we are planning four basketball teams with over 40 kids! I am excited to have had the chance to plant the seed of the Gospel in the hearts of these children. As a part of our summer activities, we put on two Sports Camps here in Alamance County along with a three day camp for senior adults! We also went on mission trips to War, West Virginia in June, Olyphic, North Carolina in July, and Southport, North Carolina in July. Wow! God sure is Good! We need all your prayers right now. God has great things in store for us! I can’t wait to see what happens!
As I look around, I see non-profit groups everywhere going all out to raise funds.  Many are trying to come up with new ideas for fundraising.  As I have always said, “God is our Source.”  All I want to do is let everyone know what God is doing in our ministry and let them decide for themselves if the Lord is leading them to support the work here.  We are just the messengers. God has and is doing great things with Christian Adventurers.  I want to encourage folks to come and see for themselves what God has blessed us with.  I believe we have God’s favor!  Please pray about joining together with us as we share Christ with so many children and their families!

Always Looking For The Miracle!

~Terry~
